Automatic Pop-up Products and Dimensional Mailers
From an advertising and marketing point of view, the beauty of an automatic pop-up product such as a cube, a box or a ball is in the actual pop up action. It is the action which starts a sequence of events that ends up with the promotional pop-up product being kept for ages – sometimes years! Here’s the script. An attractive little package arrives on your customer’s desk one morning. It's what we call a dimensional mailer. Just because the mailer is in a pack such as our Zippalope, it is already leaps and bounds ahead of the mass of boring, white, standard-sized, flat envelopes that create the unwanted pile. You see, dimensional mailers attract far more attention than ordinary envelopes.
Promotional Pop up action grabs the attention
Saving the best until last, your customer opens all the envelopes and bins the contents, barely stopping to give most of it even a sideways glance. Then your customer opens your promotional pop-up pack. Your dimensional mailer, say, a pop up house, automatically pops up and jump out of his grasp and suddenly your customer has to look at this one mailer - even if it is only to pick it up! Your customer is curious to see how a 3D house got into such a small pack so he studies the promotional pop-up closely. Then he starts to flatten it and then watch the pop up action - over and over and over again. You’ve cracked it – your customer is hooked and your automatic pop-up dimensional mailer has done its job!
Automatic pop-up products work best when the rubber band is fresh
The pop-up action in this range of automatic pop up products is created by cardboard engineering design working with rubber bands. However, rubber bands are a natural product and if they are kept at full stretch for too long they begin to lose their elasticity. We recommend that your promotional pop ups are dispatched to your customers within the first week of being made – unless you can store them popped-up rather than flat. An automatic pop up product will pop-up for months on end if it is stored in its popped up state but not if they are stored flat with the rubber band at full stretch!
Promotional Pen Holders are a good idea for dimensional mailers
Whilst the automatic pop-up action creates a very effective dimensional mailer there is no need for your promotional pop-up to stop working after the initial impact. You can add a long desk life to the product by converting it into a pen holder.
Quite a number or our automatic promotional pop-ups make excellent pen holders and can be supplied as such for no extra cost. The pop-up cube makes a terrific desk top pen holder and still offers lots of space for an eye-catching promotional message. The same can be said of the pop-up castle and the pop-up choc box. The choc box can be supplied with enough holes to hold 14 pens whilst the castle holds a more modest 8 pens. The pop-up cuboid is another box-shaped product which lends itself to being supplied as a pen holder with a sturdy shape and size option. This cuboid also makes a good money box or charity collection box. Options which are more quirky or decorative are the pop-up house and the pop up ball. Each of these options is supplied with either a Zippalope or a Mailing Wrap and as B2B direct marketing tools they will extend the life of your promotion for months.
Calendars also add life to Dimensional Mailers
Another way for you to extend the life of your automatic pop-up dimensional mailer is to print it as a calendar. Many of the promotional pop-ups mentioned above as pen holders also make excellent calendars. In fact one of our most popular calendars is our Pen Pal, closely followed by the Power Pen Pal.
