It was in the late 90s that Whitney Woods made an entrance into the world of cardboard engineering and paper engineering, taking a tentative step forward by exhibiting a few products at a trade show in London. The products were interactive but did not lie flat and did not have a significant pop-up action. We thought that if the pop up products worked as trade show giveaways then we were on to a good thing. Overall reaction to these few manual promotional pop-ups was encouraging but there was something missing – impact. The magic ingredient was rubber bands! From that point onwards our cardboard engineering team started to work on developing a range with a wow-factor. The vast majority of our cardboard engineered products are supplied exactly as seen within these web pages but we do produce bespoke cardboard engineering, usually in the manufacture of promotional pop up cards. Producing pop-up marketing products for commercial use as we do precludes the use of very intricate pop-up mechanisms as the costs of hand assembly would become prohibitive. We are proud of the fact that all of our products are hand made in the UK by skilled local labour. Nothing is farmed out to foreign parts and we do not take advantage of or exploit cheap labour.
