The Little Big Card has two credit card sized covers (85 x 54mm) printed on 350gsm silk art board with a gloss laminate finish.

The Z folded inner sheet is approximately A4 in size and is printed in 4 colour process on one side on 80gsm bond paper.

The Little Big Card - Z Fold Card

Our Z Fold card is known as a Little Big Card as it starts of quite little with two credit card sized covers, then it opens to a relatively big size of approximately A4. The Z fold card is very similar to how a map folds up, though in reality, that is actually more like a "broCard". However, the simple concept of a folding technique that looks like the letter Z in profile, sandwiched between two credit card sized wafers has been a worldwide success story. Originally developed for an airline company who wanted passengers to retain their A4 literature rather than discarding it in airport lounges, the original Z fold card gave birth to the modern term of pocket sized print.

Pocket Sized Print and the Z Fold Card

The Z fold card took the world by storm in the early 1990s winning some massive clients along the way, such as Nokia, who put a Z fold card in every new mobile phone box for the first few years of that particular boom. Blue chip clients soon cottoned on to the fact that these simple but very handy pieces of pocket sized print were being retained by the recipient in pockets, wallets, purses, handbags and brief cases. Pocket sized print was being kept whilst A4 documentation was being thrown away or at best filed in some easily forgotten place. From that one neat piece of marketing came all kinds of Z fold copycat products. Some from neighbours in the UK (broCard is based in Wakefield) and another in the early days from Italy whilst the far east no doubt kept the Z folding card litigation team on their toes.

The Little Big Card - Keep it simple

There are many people out there trying to reinvent the wheel, offering a myriad of variations in folding techniques but we have found that keeping things simple works best for us and for the product. as a result, we offer just two Z fold options - 6 folds one way and three folds the other - or - eight folds one way and 3 folds the other. The 24 panel option gives a slightly longer fold-out section. Both options make really good products for events and exhibitions as handouts and giveaways.
