Bobbing Duck Promotional Pop-Up Product

This amusing promotional pop-up of a duck bobbing up and down in the water is created by turning a little wheel on the side. The irregular movement of this pop-up product has been used with other graphics but it is particularly suited to suggesting movement on water eg a boat.

Movement created by using two eyeletted parts

This movement is created in a similar way to how a flywheel and crankshaft operate. The wheel at the side of the sleeve is eyeletted at the centre and is turned in an even, circular motion by the user. Within the sleeve the duck is connected to the wheel by a long shaft which is eyeletted to the wheel in an off-centre position. When the wheel is turned, the shaft moves up and down with it but as the die-cut duck is held within a slot, the movement is somewhat irregular – like a “bobbing” motion.
