New Product Launch
New product launch, product marketing and product news
Launching a new product can be a multi-faceted effort with the campaign spreading across many different forms of media. The Whitney Woods range of products is suitable for consideration for many aspects of a new product launch. For example - as handouts at a launch event, for inclusion in a direct marketing campaign, as invitations to the launch event as part of a new launch special offer promotion and so on.
One vitally important consideration is that the chosen vehicle absolutely must grab the attention of your customers in order to give the product launch a chance to become a success. The product at the heart of the launch campaign will dictate the style of the advertising piece. A product that we will call “Big Shot” might call for an all-action promotional pop-up product, whereas a product called “Sea Breeze” would probably call for something with greater subtlety.
Product marketing with high impact promotional products
Let’s look at our product called “Big Shot” and let’s make it “ugly” – an industrial cleaning gunk! Straight away, the feeling is that this product might need a product marketing lift to get it noticed in amongst the plethora of other cleaning materials available to the industrial marketplace. Of equal, if not greater importance, is that the direct mailing piece should make your customer sit up and take notice of the product launch piece. If the mailer could also double as something that might remain on your customer’s desk then you have got a real winner.
In this instance a promotional piece like a pop up ball or a pop-up cube would sound perfect for the product launch. Both have plenty of room for promotional print, both lie flat in an envelope before jumping out into your customer’s hands and both can be made into desk top pen holders which will help them to stay in front of your customer for ages.

New product launch with a subtle touch
On the other hand, our product launch for “Sea Breeze” might benefit from a different approach. Let’s make it another industrial product – maybe it could be a pack of wet-wipes for canteen counters. The original suggestion of a pop-up cube or a pop up cuboid in the shape of the actual pack would work perfectly well for product marketing if the graphics were done tastefully but perhaps the pack itself does not really carry the product launch message. Let’s assume that the real message is that a dirty, grubby counter top or canteen table can be wiped clean in a trice. That’s where our “before and after” mailers could tell the story.
Pictures that change tell product marketing story line
We have a range of promotional mailers which we call Dissolvers which do a perfect job of telling a “before and after” story. Each product has a window on the cover. Pull a tab and the picture in the window dissolves into a new picture. From grubby counter top to sparkling clean work surface. The Dissolvers have proved to be successful interactive mailers when used in this particular way. They come in various formats and sizes which adds to their versatility as product marketing tools.

Another attention-grabbing product with changing pictures is our Flicker Card which is an extremely tactile product. Pull a tab and pages turn in quick succession to give the appearance of moving pictures. Another great marketing tool for the “Sea Breeze” product launch! Flicker cards have been produced in three sizes and usually have just six flick-over pages but the piece has plenty of room for product marketing messages and is suitable for direct marketing. |
