Tip-on Magazine Advertising Products Must Capture the Reader’s Attention

When a reader comes across a page with something affixed to an ad (a tip-on), the first thing that he or she will do is to remove the tip-on. You can see just how important it is to the advertiser, then, that the tip on has something to offer as a standalone advertising product. The Interloop Mailer has loads to offer. Not only does it have oodles of space for advertising and marketing messages, it is also one of the most tactile and interactive products on the market!

Magazine Tip-ons and On-page tip-ins

Advertising items that are affixed to an ad on a magazine page are usually referred to as tip-ons which is a term used in the print industry. Very occasionally they are called on-page tip-ins. Either way, the reason why advertisers use this type of advertising is that it draws attention to the on-page ad and ensures that the reader also has something to encourage recall once the magazine has been read.  Whilst tip-ons require that you buy an on-page ad in the first place, they do have a much longer recall value than a loose insert. The Interloop product is one that scores well on recall and it is also a product that is rarely discarded.

Product Spec and Magazine Specifications

For use as a magazine tip-on to be featured on an A4 page we recommend the 150 x 150mm Interloop. It is popular as a standalone product and it would not take over the on-page ad, leaving plenty of room for a headline and so on.  Interloop’s are printed on both sides on 300gsm artboard in 4 colour process.

However, it is of utmost importance that you check with the magazine that they are happy with the standard format of an Interloop as a tip-on. The production manager at the magazine may well ask for samples before giving approval. We will be happy to oblige with samples providing that we have some in stock!
